Is there any good mobo for Intel Core 2 Duo with decent onboard graphics? I'll get a graphics later when prices drop, so temporarily I'm planning to use onboard graphics. My budget is around 5k.

Your only option is Intel G965 based mobos.

Certanly i would suggset not to go for D965RY, the board doesnt worth to be with C2D :(

if one has to buy a D965 based board it has to be either D965WH or ASUS P5B-V

:D

But I'm not sure whether D965WH or ASUS P5B-V will fit into my 5k budget.
Acording to ITWares D965WH costs 7.6K

Is D965RY not a good board?

965RY has ram compatibility issues.either increase ur budget or buy a AMD X2 based system.its better to buy X2 when ur a bit tight on budget.

All Intel Boards have issue with RAM at 800MHZ and BIOS locket at 1.8v. But 80% people would be getting 667MHZ ram so it wont be of much problem.

I have DG965WH and my friend has DG965RY not much issues till now :)

@weftr100

if u have a budget problem then C2D isnt for u, how ever saing that I support sukhdeepsinghkohli that, buy 667MHz RAM then D965RY wont be such bad buy !!!

but once again, as assasin said, think of X2 for a Value for money system !!!

intel 965 mobo is a strict no no for a C2D processor,
it will bottleneck your PC's performance for sure,

u can go for ASUS 650i ultra which costs around 5.5K,
but hey no onboard gfx with this mobo ,
but performance is good,
get a ceap gfx card like 6200 for temporary soultions , will cost you 1800-2000Rs,

plz don't go for the intelD965RY or D965WH also P5B VM,
don't think about these 3 mobos,

about AMD,
there are lots of mobo's with better onboard gfx than intel onboard,

in AMD you have

ASUs M2N Mx with 6100 onboard costs 3800Rs,
then ASUS M2N Pv Mx 6150 onboard 4000Rs,

then u have ASUS M2A VM (ATI 1250 onboard) 4500Rs,
& ASUS M2A VM HDMI (ATi 1250 onboard)with HDMI support 5000Rs,

another option gigabyte mobo with geforce 7050 around 5-5.5K,

another cheap option jeyway 690G chipset (same as ASUS M2A VM) 3800Rs,

^care to explain how/why it would bottleneck his processor? I own a DG965RY myself & don't seem to find any sort of issues with it nor any issues of the processor being bottlenecked. Also AFAIK many of my friend who own a 965 boards with a medium/high end DX10 cards on it aint complaining of any sort of "bottleneck" issues.

plz don't go for the intelD965RY or D965WH also P5B VM,
don't think about these 3 mobos,
Again WHY?

i haven't said all the 965 mobo's

i have specified the ones which are useless,

see the intel onboard gfx sux totally,
also there is no overclocking options available in those mobos
(excluding P5B VM which has limited overclocking capability)

features are absent which are on the chipset based mobo's from ASUS ,
an A I overcloking would have been better for that mobo,

LOL, Most of the average user is looking for Onboard graphics so he doent need to spend few more thousands just to surf websites and make documents.
Plus the onborard GFX is capable of most games if not in Eye candy

Offcourse, there is no overclocking in Intel but just remember...not all people are gamers ;)

What important feature is absent ?? Dont mislead people with useless comments

ha ha.. .
then why to buy a C2D,
C2D's are meant for overclocking,

if anybody dont want to overclock then AM2 is the way to go,
why to waste money ;)

intel is not making the overcloking supported mobo's cause they are not giving any warrenty after overclocking,
