Going to Buy 2nd Hand iPhone, What Should I Look For

Ok i am getting a cool deal for the iPhone 2G from some guy. He bought it from Dubai around 1 month back and says it all new and never used it. My question is what all should i look for before buying it.

If he bought it from dubai, and he is not using it ,then it is certainly unlocked then i wont be able to test calls and stuff. So what should i do. Please advice.:-|

Umm... do you even know this guy? If not I hope you are personally picking up the iPhone lest he sells you a cheap chinese rip off. Even if it is locked, thats not really much of an issue, (I'm assuming its the iPhone 2G) as unlocking is insanely easy with WinPwn and what not.

Not to be rude, but don't you have an iPhone blog :p
