Now it's fine when I posted it was buggy and went down again for 5 minutes.

I was waiting for an important mail, when it happened after refreshing the page.

Yes you are right, I was opening a email when I accidentally removed my data card. I thought it was because of that. I logged out and logged it but it was still there, though got corrected after about 5 mins of time

It was down for around 20 min as per my experience.
I was discussing it live on #krow IRC channel.

This was a big outage that affected other Google services too like Hangout. It was rumors (?) that Apocalypse is near soon!

Actually, it was not an outage. NSA was synchronizing its servers with GMail servers. NSA sync is complete now.

Even google search was down some parts of the world.

This should not even been have been news but the standards google have set makes its almost on par or the rising and setting of the sun.
