I need a free antivirus sooftware which has decent detection rate, lite on resources and should offer fast scanning. I am using avast now. I found it real time scanning slow. It really slows down the whole computer.
AVG is very light and good (equal to avast in features)
AntiVir is good too...
Quick Heal is nice... you have loads of options, jus dont go for NAV, Kasper or McAfee since they are kind of heavy... and not to mention Win Defender..
As far as free is concerned, AnTi Vir is good... for paid ones , Nod32 is the best...( really fast, small update files, best detection rate ).. it's really worth the money... (www.eset.com)
IMO, all free ed. Antivirus are pure cr@p. even avast free ed is useless, though the pro one is something gr8.Iwonder how u guys find avast a resource hog..still on P2 or what .Get a antivirus professional edition...and it should last long with those updates
free antivirus : avast or avg or AntiVir
all good plus (actually) quite light of resources
just check ur avast scan options. change them to 'standard' and 'dont scan inside...' to mahe it faster/lighter...
if u want reeaal light one ... try nod32...
I have been using avast for more than a year now.I have only 128 MB ram but never felt that it is slowing down the system, even with all the 7 providers running. Everyone, please try it once again and check your settings................................Yes the startup is slow, I can agree to that, but it is really good.
Kaspersky kaspersky kaspersky... Never ever let me down in years and years...... A little ( ilttle I mean) harsh no system resources..but the personal pro version is light.. If light is what u need then i wud recommend you norton corporate verson (362 kb) of memory in task manager.. no real time protection guatenteed though... I wud always say kaspersky
