Intel Sandybridge processors are better than AMD 6cores currently in everything.

thetechfreek its always good to keep yourselves updated(no offence). sandybridge processors are better than any previous core generation processors also.

^^ +1 to Bulldozer929. Ya, Right now Sandy Bridge is the ultimate architecture in X86 Genre, it actually blows everything else...even Intel's previous best Nehalem Architecture by a considerable margin.
I5 760 is no match for the i5 2400.

But, I think that AMD processors are cheap and i need more cores(for 3D modelling and gaming). Can u please tell me in detail why you're recommending me to buy Core i5?

For Gaming, even most game aren't capable of utilising 4 cores, so forget about 6 cores for them.

3D Modeling, well some applications there may use 6cores, but at the time being, it is not needed, you may want to go for 4GB+ though depending on how intensive you gonna use it.

They are Recommending i5 Sandy Bridge and Not i5 previous series.

i5 SNB's are capable of performing 20%+ compared to i5 previous series, though being at same price range.

I don't remember the link atm, try searching AnandTech review and you will know yourself ;)

actually urbgeekthe sandybridge processors are faster in everything. be it rendering or gaming.

but if you do rendering seriously(profession) then i recommend against a gaming card. a PS3 or XBOX 360 + workstation rig will do good for performance in both worlds. a workstation card is more accurate in rendering. some apps also provide drivers to use workstation cards only like solidworks.

so tell do you render for fun or you a professional.?

Well thats a thing of the past now. Amd 6 core (thuban) processors were better in multithreaded applications ( read rendering, 3d modelling, encoding etc) than previous lynnfield based i5's.

But intel's new sandybridge microarchitecture has changed that all. The new lga 1155 based i5's and i7's are blazing fast ( way faster in clock per clock executions) owing to their superior architecture and efficient individual cores.

So in current scenario, a 4 core sandybridge processor even without hyperthreading beats any hexcore amd processor in all applications and consumes even less power.

So there is no point to consider any amd 6 cores with sandybridge based lga 1155 processors around.

Amd will fight back in its bulldozer based processors later this year.
