Gaming rig under 40k

Right off the assembly line
1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')

Ans: Occasionally using Office apps and mainly gaming...COD, GTA, NFS...would be happy to run smoothly in Medium settings.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.

Ans: 40k + 2k

3. Planning to overclock?

Ans: Nope

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?

Ans: Win 8 x64

5. How much hard drive space is needed?

Ans: 500GB

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.

Ans: Would like to buy a 21" Full HD

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?

Ans: Optical disc drive and cabinet

8. When are you planning to buy the system?

Ans: 2-3 weeks

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?

Ans: Assembler

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?

Ans: Bangalore. If mentioned parts are not available locally, I don't mind buying them online.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?

Ans: Prefer Intel over AMD

AMD FX-6300 @ 7.3K
Asus M5A97 R2.0 @ 6K
Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz CL9 4GB DDR3 @ 2K
WD Caviar Blue 500 GB SATA III @ 2.9K
Antec VP450 @ 2.8K
Dell S2240L @ 8.5K
Sapphire HD 7850 2GB GDDR5 @ 13K
Lenovo M6811 1600 DPI 5 Btn Laser Gaming Mouse @ 0.65K
Logitech Keyboard @ 0.3K

Total: 43.45K.

If you want to reduce the price then get Sapphire HD 7790 1GB GDDR5 @ 11K. It is better than GTX 650 Ti. But my recommendation is to stick with HD 78560 2 GB model as games at 1080P is really demanding for the GPu and 2 GB Video Memory is very much required to play games with Anti-Aliasing and AF enabled.

+1 to cilus's config.
The FX-6300 should be enough for regular work and games. And it has a better GPU too.
