When you start overclocking add a decent aftermarket cooler like CM hyper212evo.
If the config overshoots your budget then replace the cabinet by NZXT source 210 elite
which is available at 2.5k.But Carbide 400r is a much better cabinet overall.

Except for being an ATX mobo, P8Z77-V LX is really not woth it. Get something better like the Asus P8Z77-M PRO for 12.2k else settle for P8Z77-M for 10.3k.
As budget exceeds so get:
* a single 4GB stick for now
* NZXT Source Elite 210 for 2.5k

Can you specify as to why it isn't a good board.
Check some reviews here:
1.ASUS P8Z77-V LX eTeknix review
2.ASUS P8Z77-V LX kitguru review

The only con of this mobo is that it doesn't support SLI.But does the OP need SLI?
It supports Amd crossfirex.

Conclusion by kitguru
It would be fair to say that we are quite impressed with the Asus P8Z77-V LX as it performs extremely well for a budget oriented motherboard. It’s also attractive looking for a value offering and features Asus’ trademark black and blue colour scheme. We’re also very happy that Asus use the same excellent UEFI interface from their performance motherboards on their value range too.

We managed to achieve an impressive 4.7 GHz stable overclock with this motherboard when we paired it with our Intel Core i7-3770K processor. This is noteworthy for a very competitively priced motherboard like the P8Z77V-LX. It achieved very similar performance results to the much more expensive ASRock Z77 Xtreme6 which is a great feat.

If it is good enough then there is no need of changing the motherboard and also no need of compromising with the cabinet.
