Hello digitians i'm new here....i am willing to buy a pc...so i need some suggestions from you....

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans:playing most recent and upcoming big title games like watchdogs, arkham knights, battlefield 4,thief,nfs rival,ac 4 etc. at the highest settings in 1080p res. and also occational adio-video rendering, photoshop etc..

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans:60k at most.not a penny more. will be very good if the whole rig comes in 55k to 60k pricebracket.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans:if possible,yes

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans:windows 8 or windows 7,both 64 bit

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans:hdd, ssd not needed already have 2 tb internal and 1 tb external hdd

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans:yes,a 1080p 21"-22" monitor would suffice

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans:keyboard,mouse,sound system,ups and hdd

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans:end of this month or next moth

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans:yes have built my previous pc

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans:live in kolkata.open to both locally and online.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans:thanks in advance :)

Thanks cilus for your suggestion.the total cost for your built is 63k.so i will have to skip the cooler.what i am asking is is it necessary to buy a cooler if i am going to overclock?
Does the overclock improve the performance of the pc?
And lastly can i have an intel haswel based pc at this price point??not that i am a fanboy of of intel but i saw in several places intel processors outperforms amds,so i am asking if intel would be better or not.
And i forgot to mention on the erliar post that this my last upgrade upuntill 4 to 5 years.so the rig must be futureproof...
Thanks in advance..

1. If you buy locally, you won't have to skip that cooler :)
2. Overclocking won't help 'that' much.
3. Intel outperform AMD in single core performance, and yes you can get a Intel rig.
Here's the Intel rig -

i5 4570 (14k)
Gigabyte B85M-D3H (5.6k)
Kingston HyperXBlu 4GB (2.7k)
Antec 650p (4.5k)
Dell S2240L (8.2k)
CM N300 (3.5k)
Sapphire R9 280X (22k)

bssunilreddy

Chosen of the Omnissiah
Intel Core i5 4570 -14000,
Gigabyte B85M-D3H -5500,
Corsair Vengeance 4GB 1600Mhz -2800,
Corsair GS600 -4500,
Dell S2240L LED IPS 22" -8200,
Cooler Master N300 -3500,
Sapphire R9 280X 3GB -23000.
TOTAL -61,500.

Intel Processors does have better per core performance resulting better performance in applications which are single threaded in nature. But applications which are multi-threaded in nature, FX-8350/8320 performs brilliantly. So games and applications which are multithreaded (like Video encoding, Photo Editing apps and current games like Crysis 3, Metro Last Light, Battlefield 4 or Tomb Raider), FX 8 core processors perform brilliantly, sometimes almost equal to a 3770K. Also if you are not going for Intel K series Processor and Z87 motherboards, you can't overclock Intel based systems.

Check here:-

Check it here:
CRYSIS 3

METRO LAST LIGHT
*static.techspot.com/articles-info/670/bench/CPU_01.png

BATTLEFIELD 4
*static.techspot.com/articles-info/734/bench/CPU_01.png

Now you tell me, by spending 3K extra (4570 over an 8350), how much gaming performance you are getting. Also, you can overclock FX-8350 and even slight 200MHz overclock will narrow the performance.

actually the price difference is negligible because of the difference in cost of motherboard. A Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0 costs 8k whereas the Gigabyte B85M-D3H costs 5.5k. Locally the price would be same :)

> Overclockable i5 setup is more expensive than FX 8350 + MsA97 EVO. My vote goes to AMD rig suggested by Cilus; it will be more future proof and will provide the fun of overclocking too!

> Also, go with 4 GB x2 RAM instead of single 8 GB stick so that you may be able to use the PC even when one stick goes kaput.

Wow!!that explains it....so i am going with the amd rig..thanks cilus for the clarification....
So the final built is as follows....
FX 8320 @ 10.35K
Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0 @ 8K
Kingston HyperX DDR3 8 GB X 1 1600MHz @ 4.75K
COOLER MASTER CABINET N300@3.5k or coolermaster k380@3.8k( you tell me which is better)
SAPPHIRE GRAPHICS CARD R9 280X 3GB DDR5 OC DUAL X UEFI WITH BATTLEFIELD 4 @ 22K
Dell S2240L LED IPS 1920X1080 @ 8.2K
ANTEC VP650P PSU @ 4.535K
I will be buying the cooler later when i overclock.

Get 4 GB x2 RAM instead of single 4 GB RAM. I;ve mentioned the reason in my previous post.

Care to provide a reason? Please don't make claims without providing reasons.

a 4GB x2 would be better. Get K380 if you want a industrial looking cabby or else get N300.

*www.snapdeal.com/product/aoc-i2269vwm-215-inch-ips/1101274211 . this one looks cool. but around 9.5k.
looks like a good competitor to s2240l.
there are other models too, but doesn't look like ips panel like *www.snapdeal.com/product/aoc-e2260swn-215inch-led-monitor/1859085976 or *www.snapdeal.com/product/aoc-e2262vwh-215-inch-monitor/1428578 (2ms response time)

i think the biggest reason here i hav is my experience since i own it...........

if gaming is primary concern then s2240l is not that good other options are available in market as suggested above......... i am experiencing screen tearing.........

- - - Updated - - -

also the gaming mode of s2240l it sucks big time............
