I have the i5-4570 and i must tell, it's a beast of a CPU.
Since the i5 consumes very less energy.. According to my calculation i will save around 6500Rs per year [compared to an fx 8350] considering the fact i keep my PC usually 24x7 ON. [It's still on from the day i bought it, never switched off only restarted a few times for updates] Also i got a cheap mobo [since it wont overclock no need for high end mobo]
Also i saved 2.5k rs on the fan cooler needed for AMD cpus, also less temps , less heat :D

In total this is the amount i saved over a 8350 rig in terms of inital cost: 2500 RS
In 1 year: 2500+6500 rs = 9000rs
In 2 years: 9000+6500 = 15,5000Rs

Also i don't have any graphics card as of now , because the integrated gpu is fine for running Dota2/CS:GO on max settings :D [Waiting for new AMD cards to hit the market]
ALSO Overclocking always has a chance of frying the mobo/damaging other parts/voiding the warranty and i5 4570 is faster per core performance.
Also the i5 is a newer 22nm manufcatured unlike the 8350 which is 32nm old gen [If it concerns you]
I'd recommend the 4570.
Here's a comparison: Intel Core i5 4570 vs AMD FX 8350
Anyone is free to point out my mistakes :)

> no, i5 4570 is not a beast. It can be easily overthrown by the cheaper FX 8350. Though gaming performance is slightly better in case of Intel.

> Now about your calculation:

according to you:-

money saved annually= Rs.6500 => units consumed annually(considering Rs.6/unit)= 1083.33 units/year = 2.968 units/day = 0.12366 units/hour = 123.66 W of power difference between i5 4570 and FX 8350

Are you saying that you PC is running a render while scanning the PC for malware and compiling Firefox at the same time 24X7?

Check here: AMD FX-8350 - Power Consumption | bit-tech.net (althpugh the comparision doesn't involve i5 4570, we can get an approx result by reducing the power consumption of i5 3570k by 20-30%)

At idle, both consume almost same amount of power and even at load there is 96 W of power difference. Now this can lead to ~5k cash saving, but WHO RUNS THEIR PC AT 100% LOAD 24x7x365?

No game used 100% CPU, so anything but Prime95 or non hardware accelerated rendered running 24x7 can make such difference.

In a nutshell, you'r calculation are nowhere near real world PC usage scenarios.

> Overclocking is very safe now. You cannot burn a CPU unless you put it on fire or there is a manufacturing defect in wither CPU, motherboard or PSU.
