GALAXY S4 or HTC ONE

@n3rd lol don't you feel silly if you're comparing the build quality of a HTC One and an SIV?

Not my problem if you can't tell the difference re: being "quality" and being aesthetically pleasing. And S4 is coming in metal too (S4 Active), if that's your kinda thing - but metal is not viable for mass production, and it's even harder to manufacture metal phones with removable back. If you think that flashy looks is gonna last long without case, then epic LOL.

Htc one. Just hold it once, you'll know why.

I did "hold" both phones - and S4 feels a lot more comfortable than HTC One - lighter and more screen real estate without increase in size than S3. If you mean looks - I agree, arguably the best looking android phone out there is the One. And I hate the cold/hot metal feel on anything metal, personally.

An obvious benefit to aluminum construction is that there is no flex in the HTC One. With the One X and One X+, I developed a fidget with those devices where I would pop the display out of the plastic unibody all the time when standing idle or needed to do something with my hands, which is literally the way to disassemble them. That or I would flex the thin backside of those phones by pressing on them to take up the gap between the plastic frame and battery. With the One there is no opportunity for me to fidget and semi-disassemble the phone, no flex if I push really hard on the back, or anywhere on the device. This is what build quality is about, making an actually solid device.

Yeah right - you're quoting the subjective opinion of a reviewer - for what exactly? Argument from authority much? Either way - the One review from Brian was a tad biased for my liking - I love Anand's reviews though. (Not talking about the objective data, which are reliable IMO - but subjective opinions).

And plenty, I mean plenty of HTC One devices were far from "gapless" - go over to XDA for evidence. Very few people actually got 100% gapless design. And FTR:
HTC One is the least repairable phone ever, iFixit says | CNET UK

For me, that all matters when it comes to build quality, not just aesthetics. Perhaps not for you.

Seriously - HTC one is a damn good phone - and there are areas where HTC One excels over S4. I'm not bringing fanboy crap into this, YOU ARE. You started the whole "cheap plastic" BS, not me. I didn't even urge him to get S4 - if HTC One suits him better than S4, he should definitely get that - it has excellent speakers, more internal storage and is aesthetically pleasing. Which has nothing to do with your drivel, though.
