Maybe we should all complaint to the Ministry regarding these daily soaps that we're all so sick of.The Hindu said:In the case of FTV, the action has been taken for airing programmes such as Midnight Hot, featuring "skimpily dressed and semi-naked models."
Such programmes, according to the Ministry, are against good taste and decency, denigrate women and could adversely affect public morality. The ban has been ordered as per Section 20(2) of the Cable Television Networks Regulation Act, 1995.
The action follows complaints to the Ministry by television viewers.
No programme should be carried in the cable service which:-
Offends against good taste or decency:
...
Encourages superstition or blind belief;
Denigrates women through the depiction in any manner of the figure of a women, her form or body or any part thereof in such a way as to have the effect of being indecent, or derogatory to women, or is likely to deprave, corrupt or injure the public morality or morals;
The cable operator should strive to carry programmes in his cable service which project women in a positive, leadership role of sobriety, moral and character building qualities.
