The Outsider

Beneath The Eyelids
Been playing with many media players these days, still haven't found something that exactly matches my taste.

So, I wonder what people use as a media (mainly audio) player under Linux/GNU ?

people keep telling me about amarok. i've given amaraok / banshee / xmms / songbird / audacious / helix / rhythmbox all a try. all of them, barring xmms & rhythmbox have crashed on me. i found xmms quite handy with all the plugins available, but it the fact that it doesnt have a media library doenst help me one bit.

so now i'm stuck with rhythmbox. its not too bad, just lacks an equalizer / sound output plugins. i still can't say i'm satisfied with a single music player in linux till date. Nothing to compare to winamp / foobar...

Amarok, VLC or mplayer are the ones i usually use.
@adit_sen for last 2 yrs I have been trying to use amarok, it always used to hang up on my PC, but dunno somehow in last 2-3 months it's working fine. So, work is going on and keep submitting bug reports to KDE team. Hopefully, your problem is solved soon.
