Less than 24 hours away from the Facebook event that is supposed to unveil “Facebook’s new home on Android,” we’ve got more leaked images of the HTC First.

The HTC First is the rumoured new flagship from HTC that has gone significant UI tweaks to give it a very strong “Facebook” flavour. The name is also appropriate for the device as it is the “first” phone to be designed keeping Facebook in mind, but also, it is in line with HTC’s other flagship phone, “One.”

The user interface of the HTC First device has been leaked courtesy 9to5Google and from the initial looks of it, Facebook has sunk its networking teeth into pretty much every aspect of the phone. Almost every context menu has a relevant Facebook option, leaving very little need to navigate the actual app. Conceptually it sounds pretty neat, and from the leaked screenshots, it looks like Facebook and HTC have done a good job at integrating the feature, but we will only know its effectiveness once we’ve given it a test run for ourselves.

The hardware isn’t the only thing being showcased at tomorrow’s event, as Facebook also plans on showing off a rich, skinned version of its Android app at the press event tonight. The skinned app won’t get limited to just the HTC First though, with rumours suggesting that Samsung’s TouchWiz UI will also be able to play fair with the new app.

Currently, we know a fair bit about the announcements that will probably be made tonight, but we can’t be too sure about whether this is all there is. Leaving aside the fact that the nitty-gritty details of both the phone and the app are still amiss, we can’t help but feel that there may be more here than meets the eye.

Cover feed: A constant, fresh stream of photos and updates from your newsfeed, cover feed is always present when you wake up your phone. It lets you stay up-to-date on your friends’ latest activities in real-time, all the time. You can swipe through to see more photos and updates, double tap to “like” a post and comment right from cover feed.

Notifications: Notifications from apps and friends appear right on your home screen. It’s easier to see when you have a missed call, calendar reminder or new message. Open a notification with a double tap or clear them away to see your Cover Feed.

Chat Heads: The mobile messenger lets you jump in and out of conversations while you do other things, like watch a video and browse the web. Reply right from chat heads, or move them around if you're not ready to respond. Plus you can send and receive texts and Facebook messages from the same spot. To learn more about chat heads, check out this video.
App Launcher: See your favorite apps and post right to Facebook from the same spot. You choose what’s on your app launcher—press and hold an app then drag it anywhere.

Instagram: HTC First is the only phone that comes with Instagram pre-loaded.

^That is still considered a bloatware..

^If you can't disable the Cover feed feature, probably no one's gonna buy..
BTW Specs of the phone are good ..
MSM8960 - 1.7 GHz Dual-core Krait, Adreno 225, might be the only selling point..
Always, the price will be the deciding factor, considering HTC habit of overpricing their phones..

If someone needs a phone specifically tailored to keep them up-to-date with what's happening on their facebook account every second of the day, they really need to take a long, hard look at themselves and decide if that's all there is to their lives. By jove, a day will come when someone will hold his poop midway, take a picture and post it on facebook before relieving himself while simultaneously replying to comments on the aforementioned picture.
