External HDD with or without External Power

Hey Guys,

In a few days i am going to buy an External HDD of 1tb or more, and i wanted to ask if should i buy the one with an external power or without it, as i will connect it to my pc and tv only

Buy USB powered external HDD. You can't get power point at every places and thus it will give you more portability.

@d6bmg: yes i do agree that usb powered will give me more portability as i said in my post that i will use it only to connect to my pc and my tv and both have power connectors nearby so which one is better??

usb powered is better. requires low power for operation. but check with tv manual whether it is supported.

i dont know about the hdd but my tv runs perfectly from a pen drive

USB powered external drive is better.
Buy USB3 drives.
