External Harddrive not working

Right off the assembly line
I bought an external hard drive from Amazon and got it through a friend. It's a Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Desk 2 TB USB 3.0 External Hard Drive STAC2000106. It's new and the drive wont even power up and the Accel service centre in Coimbatore where i hail from has told me there is no way they can service the equipment even though i was ready to pay for it.:cry:

Since you have bought it from amazon you can mail them about this.

And are you sure that you have attached all the cable properly

HDD bought from amazon falls directly under their own RMA service. Mail them & you will have to send it to them (from where you have bought it)

Would it not be beneficial for the "OP" if he/she registers the product on Seagate's website first and then contacts their customer support helpline?

The customer service should advice the "OP" appropriately with regard to RMA.
