Explanation of boot.ini needed..!! Plzz Help

First of all, hi to all the digitians....

Can ne1 here explain me the boot.ini file.......

For example below is the text in boot.ini file

timeout=3
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /TUTag=Q8O077 /Kernel=TUKernel.exe

shows the default hard disk..default partion and default OS (windows Xp here)..to boot.

the above info shows tht the time to display the list of operating systems is 3 seconds... then it shows tht the operating system is loaded on the first (1) partition of the hard drive....and finally it shows the name of the operating system... (here, windows xp)
