Hmm ASUS p5w DH dlx can support it ? BTW does ASUS p5w DH dlx has a onbard display card ?
Dude any board with a native PCI-E slot(X16) can support a DirectX10 card. The Asus P5W DH Delux dosen't have an onboard video display. It's one of those premium versions of 975 chipset which would rather have a dedicated video card than having a crappy onboard.
As for the original question,The current DX9 cards would be compatible with the DX10 games but would be downported on the graphics front. Some of the major DX10 features would be missing and it won't look the same as on a DX10 card.FYI the Crysis demo till now has been run on a X1900XTX cards in crossfire which is a DX9 card.Think about it,if the game looks so jaw-dropping in DX9 version then how would it sum up for the DX10 front.
Nvidia's G80 chipset of DX10 cards is said to be debuting in Mid-November.The 8800GTX would be requiring a minimum of 450Watts of PSU and 8800GT would need atleast 400Watts.
