I normally hibernate my PC but recently, after I restart from hibernation,
my CD drive is not listed in Windows Explorer. My solution is to do a
reboot to get the drive back. Is there a fix for this?
I am using Windows XP Pro SP2, Asus DVD Writer..
Thanx.

If restarting ur PC doesn't solve this problem then shut down ur PC.
Open the power cable and data cable from the writer and put agin.
Restart again and check.

Check the Motherboard battery once......

When i fresh start my system the drive is recognized normally and works fine. But when i resume from Hibernation the drive is lost.. it doesnt show up in My Computer/Explorer etc.
I had to reboot again to make it visible.. It remains visible until i hibernate and resume from hibernation... On resuming from hibernation it gets lost again.. :(
The mobo battery is fine and checked the connections too.. :|

I dont think that problem is in battery.
I think that its a bug with your DVD and perhaps Windows.. or anything but I think its a bug. Uninstall a few programs that use your DVD Drive (Like Nero, PowerDVD, etc) and check.
