Dual channel or not ???

Hi all,

I have an ASUS A7V8X-MX SE mobo and I wanted to know that how will I be able to know if my system supports or is running in dual channel mode even if I have 2 RAM's of same size, fsb, make ???

u can check that out by CPU-Z
the correct slots to put the RAM in varies depending on the board, so check your manual. Also,BIOS will flash a little message during bootup that will indicate if Dual DDR is enabled.

Nope....u r mobo does not support Dual Channel.....only single channel..

U should get a single 1 GM stick as it will help u to add more RAM later as ur another slot will be empty

You should opt for 2 * 256 Mb instead of 1Gb. Does ur motherboard have 4 slots for ram. Check the manual or the package to see if it supports dual channel.
