Why some Windows XP setup CDs do not give the option to Repair?. Likewise even in Linux Rescue mode, there are options to restore Windows boot or Linux boot, but NOT THE DUAL BOOT!! I have been using Mandrake 10/10.1 CD-1 for this purpose, but it did not work with a SATA drive, also, it did not work with Grub when I tried to recover Linux boot option, it did not find LILO!! PCQLinux has Grub and when I booted with this to recover ArkLinux, chrooted to mnt/sysimage and then shooted grub-install /dev/had, for about half an hour PCQ continued ?failing to get information about the partition table? (or some thing like that).
I am currently satisfied with ArkLinux that could install in empty partitions, But it did not give dual option and I lost Windows (?98 on the old laptop) boot. I tried to modify the Boot loader but then even Linux failed to boot and I had to reinstall. I had installed XOSL too (got it in a copied CD from Digit June 2002) but it had to be reinstalled. I booted into FreeDOS CD (with Bhavya Linux given by LFY long back) and re-installed it, but I lost both OS. Through with this once I was able to get back my Windows, but lost Vector Linux that was installed earlier.

Try using XOSL. It is a multiple OS Loader and easier to configure. Make sure you read the instructions first.
