one sinple way is to edit the boot.ini in c:\ drive and remove the line with win98
then delete any win98 files...
but here is a proble... ur system will boot from c:\ drive so u cannot format ur c:\ drive.... but u can use it after deleting win98 files

another thing u can do is set ur d:\ as active and recreate the mbr.......

In the zone
BOOT.ini
BOOTSECT.dos
ntdetect.com
ntldr

This four files are in C: that help in dual booting. this files are needed for booting of Windows Xp in your D:
you might delete all other files in c: drive, leaving the above four.
edit boot.ini and remove reference of win98.

most simple way is to edit ur boot.ini remove entry of win98 boot with winxp delete 98 files but don't format 98 drive as it will wipe ur MBR and winXP bootstrap will be lost. ELSE create new MBR if u wana format 98 drive.
