download accelerator problem

Whenever I download any songs from th internet, using DAP 7, after download, teh name of the file is given a number which is the php id of the file. Is there any patch, using which I can get the name of the file as it is. Please note, whenever I download the files using Internet Explorer, I get the name of the song.

Are you able to play those files without a hitch? What about other downloads like programs? Do their names also get changed?

I am able to play the files without any problem.I have not yet downloaded any programs using it.

Try downloading a small program for test purpose and see whether the downloaded file name matches with that of the original program name.

Example try this download: Google Desktop search
The downloaded program name should be 'GoogleDesktopSetup.exe'. Tell me what is the downloaded file name.

no....the files name is 'GoogleDesktopSetup.exe', evn though i downloaded it using DAP, maybe because your using an older version?

I know that there is no problem in downloads done by DAP. I was using it earlier. Let me know what is 'aritrap' getting after complete download. He never tried programs download. May be he is stopping download in between when the downloaded bits are not yet joined to achieve the final file.
aritrap, download the file 'completely' from the link I specified and let me known the downloaded file name.

Maybe u should dump DAP and use flashget instead.

its simple....just rename the file to the song name and the extension....for example if the filename is something like 6d8f4jd9jdaj0jd0 then rename it to <songname>.<extention> i.e if it is an mp3 file then after the . add mp3....similarly for zip or rar files. lemme knw if it worked...
