I have a problem, the computer recognize the HDD on the setup, but it doesn`t boot from the hard disk.I have a segate 30 GB HDD connected to a P3 1GHZ system. It shows a Disk I/O Error Message. And also i hear a clinging sound(cling - pause - cling).I tried resetting the bios to default factory settings .Also tried switching IDE bus cables but the problem was not solved. Is my HDD Busted or is the problem repairable.Any suggestion or advise is welcomed.

Download SeaTools DeskTop Edition and using it create a bootable Floppy. You hav to a Windows OS PC to do this, if you cant boot to your PC, then do the above things in any other/friend's PC.

Then, change the 1st Boot Device to Floppy in your PC, and then boot through this floppy, and perform the Disk check.
