What is main difference between ATI & Nvidia Graphics cards

  • Do ATI Cards runs well with Intel processors???
  • Do Nvidia cards runs well with AMD processors???
As ATI Radeon cards are more advance than Nvidia
coming with
Directx 10.1

any graphics card works well with any processor.

which card is better depends on your wallet. Tell us your budget, your current PC config and then we can help you pick up the right model.

Which motherboard do you have/are considering?
Crossfire or SLI if present in a motherboard play an important role too in determining ATi v nVidia.

@ 5K you can get Palit HD4670 ( Rs. 5250 may be )

But I'll recommend spending Rs.250 more & get Sparkle 9600GT which is just only Rs. 5500 - I think it's the cheapest 9600GT card in here currently available.

@ hellgate
Is that mobo is based on nvidia 750i SLI chipset ?

if a motherboard is based on AMD and builtin ATI graphic , can i use nvidia graphics card on my PCIE slot , will it work ?
will there be any conflict between ATI and NVIDIA ?

^^There never is a conflict between ATI and nVidia. You can put ATI car on nVidia chipset based board and nVidia card in ATI chipset based board.

Some older ATI chipsets have trouble with nvidia gfx cards though they are from pentium 4 & agp era - I know this coz I had once faced this kind of prob.

But every new amd/ati chipset which supports pci-e standard doesn't have any kind of prob with nvidia graphics cards - I know this coz I've installed nvidia gfx card with ati chipset mobo for a friend.

guys there is a separate sticky thread for gfx card quieries.
@xenothium adding any high end card is overkill for your system

beside that palit 9600GT also come in around 5.5K

@xenothium
surelly ati HD 4850 wud be a nice card, but ur system cant tax the card even 50%.
So ny card above a 9500GT wud be a waste i think as CPU is highly bottleneck and mem too.

have ur cpu, mobo and mem upgraded, for the time being get a 9500GT for 3.5k.
