Diff. b/w TEMP and TMP folder in windows dir. ?

What is difference between TEMP and TMP folder located in windows ?
I found this when i tried to allocate a different partition for temp. files. What steps involves in doing this. Also, last time when i did this some software installation denies to unpack....probably due temp location change !!!

i dont think there's any "TMP" named folder in windows Directory......there only TEMP" folder.....tmp is the extension for the temporary file....
