Dialup connection slowdown?????

I got my pc just 3 months back.....I got dialup connection immediately after i got my comp...I am using bsnl dialup...Dialup connection is generally 56k but i intially got speeds like 52-54k which after a month reduced to 48k and then 30k....and now i get around 18-19k....i tried disconnecting and reconnecting again but i get the same speed...i used ONSPEED but that didnt help me at all...My telephone line is properly connected but i am surprised about the speed i get....Is there any solution for this problem?????

Dialup connection max speed is 7 KB/sec (48kbps) that too vary with line conditions,if the line is busy you get slower speed also the distance between Exchange and modem also vary net speed.

Try taking a airtel gprs connection speed 14 KB/sec (104kbps),which is cheaper than dialup (125 Rs per month) Unlimited downloads/Uploads.

I initially gt poor speeds with my dial-ups
But now the speeds range frm 30-46kbps

Actually noting signifiant can b done to boost dial-ups!
