on an XP pro SP2 machine the onboard and add on card serial ports are not working. We are not able to view device manager. Even the "compmgmt.msc" is not working.
We followed what is said at the link : When I tried to open Device Manager or the Computer Management window, I received an error message: "MMC cannot open the file C:\WINDOWS\system32\devmgmt.msc" : we could go upto
Regsvr32 Msxml.dll
Regsvr32 Msxml2.dll
On giving Regsvr32 Msxml3.dll it is showing error
...failed Error Performing Inpage Operation.
Please guide how to fix this.
PC details are:
Processor: VIA C3, Socket: 370CPGA, Bus Speed: 133.7 MHZ
