I had ecrypted some images in Windows XP, then something went wrong with the OS and I had to re-install XP and now the files which were encrypted show "invalid image" when opened. What can I do to recover them?

Well the problem is I had reinstalled XP, so lost the original certificates or something which is required to recover the files, now is there any chance to atleast copy the files somewhere?
I will seek for the solution later on, on how to recover them!

There is a way out, if you have admin privileges and Win XP Pro
You can gain owner rights to those files, its there somewhere on this forum, search for it, mostly goobimama was the one who posted that....

You encrypted the files using Windows Encryption na??
Did you bother to read the threads completely??
Windows Encryption happens by binding the profile ID's...
In this case, if you take ownership, you'll be able to access those folders...
