Decent gpu required

Just have a look at my siggy and suggest a decent GPU within 3k. i am not going to OC anything. But will reapply TX-4 in my stock cooler.

monitor currently running at 2048x1152 @60 Hz

Increase your budget by around 1k and buy a HD 4670, there aren't any good GPU's in the price range you suggested.

I bought 4670 1gb DDR3 for 3200 a few months back. It should be available for around 3k now.

My suggestion is also same as Sukesh...save 1K more and get the Sapphire/MSI HD 5670 512 MB version @ 4 to 4.2K

Ya, it is available in Kolkata. Check in M.D. computers or in Vedant. You do not need to change anything to accommodate a HD 5670.

yes. i think all Sapphire HD5670 card sold in India are PCIe 2.0. and it runs without any problem (already answered many times).

yes it can be but you won't find any performance difference between 512mb and 1gb.so better to go with 512 one as it is cheaper.

nothing.just they are the vendors for that chip.there could be some difference in cooling and all.no performance difference.

1. brand name,
2. Custom coolers,
3. outlook.

All of them count nothing towards performance.
