i have a problem with my toshiba 1TB portable hdd, since one week whenever i try to open a folder, crc error msg comes up and shows no files in that folder. but the free capacity remains unchanged. And sometimes the hd is not connecting to pc or laptop. i tried the command chkdsk f: and chkdsk F:/f...., this will run for some hours and the msg "unspecified error" is displayed. i am having all my backup (900gb full) in this. i need ur help guys... i dont want to format it. please help
