In general, AFAIK, McAfee AV is not that great these days... Plus, you also need to protect against spywares, malwares, etc, for which I dont think McAfee will do well... First, install antispyware scanners such as Adaware, Spyware Doctor and Spybot SnD and update their definitions to the latest... Then, run a scan with these tools and with McAfee in Safe Mode... Then, if problem persists, get HijackThis and post its log here... We can check what malware are there...

EDIT: I hope you have a decent firewall in place...

IMHO, Kaspersky Internet Security is a very good piece of Software especially designed for both Internet as well as Home Security.

Well I had this freezing issue on my Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R Motherboard initially.

The problem was the Duplex in the Onboard NIC.
My ADSL BSNL Modem (SmartAX MT 880) only supported 100 Mbps while the onboard NIC was supporting 1 Gbps.

Changing the duplex to 100 Mbps on both sides fixed the issue.

i have checked for spywares. found some removed them. but still the computer freezes.

also changed the duplex mode to 100 mbps of the onboard nic still the computer freezes.

how do i check heating of cpu or smps? question is they cannot get overheated in just 5 min of starting the pc.

what r the options left? or else will have to call the assembler to get it working.

U can check ur cpu temperature using an app called coretemp google and dload it to monitor processor temps....i would suggest a software called EVERESt it can monitor all the temps in ur config...also post ur config here.If its not a temp or software problem then u had better contact ur dealer asap

hi thx to all of u for replying.

now i have got the issue resolved.

i installed norton internet security and it detected some 37 infected files with w32.almanahe.b virus that makes the connection to internet and kills processes. thats y system used to freeze when connected to net.
