Hi..
i have a custom-vuild computer with
intel core2duo 6300
nvidia 8400GS
1GB RAM (512x2)(1-550mhz, other-667mhz)
motherboard intel-DG965WH
power supply-400W zebronics
also have 2 dvd drives, 80 gigs hard drive and a extra network card and tv tuner........

My problem is that my computer is not turning on.......
i think it is a problem with power suppply but the real problem is that after the computer is turned off for a long period and then turned on, it will work for some minutes or max of 1 hour andthen turn off again.....

then, if i turn on, the computer wont turn on at all..........
but last day, it worked for abt 6 hours and then again the same problem is repeating.....

Can anyone plz help me??

I think the prblm is with SMPS.

Power on ur PC, open ur cabinet and notice the mobo LED whether the power is thr.

I dnt think 400W is ur prblm. May b sumthing wrong with ur SMPS. Or simply loose connection.

Thn its a sure prblm of SMPS as the power is not coming to ur mobo.

Call the hw guy to check ur SMPS or u can check urself if u know how to use multimeter.

If u find it faulty get it replaced(if under waranty) or its time to buy a new one.

But wait a day or two and lets c what other membres suggest.

A simple tip:

Clean out all th dust in ur cabby with a dust-blower or a vaccuum cleaner and a dry cloth/brush.

Loads of times my PC didn't boot and I cleaned dust and suddenly it booted.
Regarding the light not turning on, chk the cable of cabinet LED, which connects mobo to cabby. It may be loose or smthn.

If after all this, PC doesn't boot, then it may be SMPS problem.
