3 months ago, due to a broken fan blade on the CPU cooler, i had to buy an aftermarket cooler.
A technician replaced the original stock intel cooler with a Cooler Master Budget 478 cooler.
Previously, the CPU temps used to be 45 idle and 58 load.
Now it is 58 idle and 77 load (and thermal throttling activates keeping it at 72~75)
It randomly hangs when playing GTA:SA.
I ran Memtest and it said no RAM problems..
When running Prime95 (Blend or Full heat+full power) it hangs or even restarts.
I recently replaced my PSU from a 10 year old Mercury 300W to a new VIP 300W.
Why si this happening and what is the solution?
My Rig:
Intel Pentium 4 1600Mhz (single core)
512MB Zion Hynix DDR RAM
Unknown Intel i845 GV Motherboard
Samsung 40GB HDD
Sparkle Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 128MB DDR
VIP 400R (Its actually a 300W SMPS <3.3v@25A, 5v@25A, 12v@20A>)
Windows XP SP2 32bit
An error came after the Prime 95 restart.
The system has recovered from a serious error.

I use a Mercury ATX Cabinet (old) with one 80mm exhaust fan slot. Fan does not work..
However, even when i used the stock intel cooler, the exhaust fan used to be off but the temps used to be okay...
Also.. the new CM heatsink seems very small an is installed using SOLID thermla paste.
I think it is installed okay but it is not good because it gets very hot. This means heat is being transferred to it but it cant dissipate the heat. The air coming of it also doesnt seem hot so i think it is beacuse of a bad heatsink.
