1. What is the purpose of the computer? (Note: If you are planning to say multimedia, you will have to be more specific as all types of systems are capable of doing that)
A:Casual Gaming.... HD Movies... must be able to run all the apps and soft's necessary for a CSE student :)

2. Are you open to alternate ideas/products giving similar better performance but offering more VFM/ sellers? If not- why?
A: Yes.

3. What is your MAX budget?
A: 30000/-

4. Planning to overclock?
A: Nope.

5. Which OS are you planning to use?
A: Windows 7

6. How much hard drive space is needed?
A: 320-500gb

7. What resolution will the screen run at & whats the size of the screen you want? If you already want have one and want to use it, mention its resolution and size.
A: 17-19"

8. How would you rate your hardware knowledge from the count of 1-10? (1 being the lowest, 5 being you are somewhat in sync with the current performers and 10 being the highest)

A: Self.

A: next month.

A: Nope. But The system must run smoothly without any troubles for 4-5 years.

12. Are there going to be any components that you don't want to include in this new rig? If yes, do mention.
A: Nope.

13. Which city do you live in and are you open to buying from shops from other city/states?
A: Hyderabad

14. Mention any other points if deemed necessary
A: Intel Only config's....:D Need UPS, Printer & Scanner, Speakers(2.1 Channel thinking of intex 2000W??) too... everythin...
This system is for my friend... as i already have a hefty build.:D

dude... wat about printer and scanner.... and can u suggest intel proccessor and mobo...?

^^ At this budget, AMD is best :)

And the printer can cost around 3k(not quite sure) so either cut off from somewhere else(mobo or GFX card) or extend your budget. :) :)

No, No, put it this way: at this budget, AMD is the Only option. Especially considering the fact that he also needs a printer and scanner.

A low cost Inkjet printer+scanner will cost about 3k. That leaves ~27k for the PC. Remove 6k for an 18.5" monitor, speaker, keyboard and mouse and that leaves you with less than 21k for the rest of the PC.

I'm sure that shopkeepers will easily build you an Intel Core2duo based PC for that price. But the fact remains that it is an outdated processor and AMD Athlon II X4 640 @ 3.0 Ghz is a much better option. And with the 880G chipset motherboard, graphics performance will also be up to the mark for Windows 7
