CMOS bad checksum problem in window startup

when i swithon my PC. it shows black screen with following message:
CMOS checksum bad
CMOS Date/time is not set
press F1 to run setup

can anybody tell me what is the problem.

Just press F1 and let it do the check. Else pull out the battery once with the power unplugged.

Reset your BIOS.
If the problem continues, then you have to change the CMOS battery.

CMOS stores the date/time settings...
so whenever it gets corrupted the settings are lost.

so do the steps mentioned above..
if nothing works buy a new CMOS battery from h/w shop
