Check out a server's internet speed?????

Dear friends,
i want to download Suse 10 DVD ISO, but my problem is that there are so many servers for downloading it , how would i know which one is better?
i tried downloading from ftp.suse.com but the speed it provides is awefull, same is the case with US servers.
so i decided to 1st evalutate the connetion speed of the server then download it

plz help!!!!!!!

Use a download manager like download accelerator plus. It can find alternate servers, test their latency and chooses the best server to download from.
Even if the server is slow, downloading from multiple servers at the same time will max out your connection. But some sites don't allow download managers. In that case use two threaded download with one thread for a site and/or change the http client identification to mozilla from the default DAP.

How to make it???Can u explain in brief????

I don't have dap installed now so lok around the preferences. I think you just choose the next higher option to 'Normal download' and you will have two threads. Then choose automatic choosing of server. The other option is in the preferences. Just look around.
