hi guys, i dont know much about monitors.I have a samsung syncmaster 2033sw.It is connected directly to the power supply of my cabinet.I never care about it until i started planning to buy a graphic card , i have post a thread about it *www.thinkdigit.com/forum/power-supply-cabinets-mods/156197-compatible-gpu.html

now my monitor takes about 50w from my 400w psu so can i change the power source from psu to the household electric board and if yes then how?

Buy a "power cable"?

One end into the wall socket. One end into the monitor. :|

I think the Monitor do come with their Dedicated power cords. Just Plug it in in the Mains Supply and you are done.
But I would recommend a spike Buster for protection.

Actually the older monitors used to get power from PSU directly. But that cable can be changed. Buy the cable ico Quoted and it will readily fit into your monitor and then plug it in wall socket directly. You'll be good to go.

How monitor is taking power supply from PSU? Either it is connected to the UPS or separately to external power socket..

Older setup had this kind of PSU, where monitor used to be powered directly from the SMPS / PSU.

Newer PSU / SMPS does not have this kind setup. :|
