CD writing in XP...How?

And also make sure that the following service is running:

IMAPI CD-Burining COM Service

Simply double-click on the drive icon and copy the files which u want to write on CD and right-click and select "Write files to the CD" or something like that :wink:

Go to Start -> Run and type services.msc
Find a service named "IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service"
Put the 'Startup Type' to Automatic and Start the service

linardni, if you want to see an User Interface for the cd writing program like in Nero, then you can't. The builtin writing software is more like a wizard that appears when you say "Write these files to CD" in explorer.

Use some good freeware burner such as CDBurner Pro XP or deepburner... It may be better..... But, if you want to keep things plain and simple and just need to burn CD, you may stick to the Windows inbuilt CD burning feature........

Use Nero or easy cd creater.
The windows cd burning service is very low on features.
It lacks support for overburning,multisessions,vcd etc.
