CD-Writer as DVD-ROM?

Hello Guys,

My DVD-ROM just bailed out on me and is trash now... :(

A few days ago I saw an advert on the internet that told me that if I brought thier software for $19 something, I will be able to use my CD-Writer to read DVD's. Is this really possible?

Does any of you guys have heard about something like this?

No yaar.. u can do it.. get a DVD rom in order to read a DVD.
Also you posted this in a wrong section.
