i just burned a cd in multi session mode on a frd's comp ..

it already had a folder burned .. it was its 2nd session ..

but now my cd-drive is not recognizing the data which i burned later ..
it simply shows one 121mb folder but the cd has total 600 mb data ..

the whole data is visible on his comp and even on other ( including hcl ) comps ..

i have a 6months old lg 52x drive ... and cd was quite new too ( no scratches )
now .. does being in slave mode anything to do with it ..
i have also stopped the cd burning service of winxp ( simply cos i dont have a cdrw ) ..

help me out plzzz

Download the aspi drivers and install them. Restart, and see if you can read the cd now.

Code:
:)

its happened with me too sometimes...
but i think the problem may be that... you burned the first part of the cd at a diff speed than the second part... i have seen this happen..
you should burn the multisession cd at one single speed... and i think the slower the better.. though can`t say anything..

yup thts wht always write the cd at a specific speed
especially multi session cd's
burn em at a specific speed
if not possible then atleast at a lower speed
cause high speed burned disc always creates a reading problem
and also there are possiblilties of more error at high speed

No use installing aspi drivers here. Did u finalise the disk, It so happens that if some older roms and some newer ones too fail to recognice multi session disks.

theraven

Technomancer
its not abt the roms
i face the same problem
its really messed up !!
i think its abt continuin the multisession disc from a specific track or something
well anyways since i dunno much abt that im gonna shut up
try this ... if u have a second rom try it in that
or get 2 drives somehow
its crazy but it works for me ..
one track is accessed by one drive ... the other by the other ..!! no jokes !!

Hmmm...

As of now u can use Nero multimounter to access all data....

9x/Me
Code:
ftp://ftp9.nero.com/attach/Multimounter_9x.zip

2k/XP
Code:
ftp://ftp9.nero.com/attach/Multimounter_2k_xp.zip

Update ur firmware....

What u think is incorrect m8...

There is no speed binding in any burnin format...

The only care u need to take while burning a muti session CD is that u should select
"Continue Multisession" instead of "new multisession" in NERO

else u'll end up with out any previous sessions as they will be excluded from the TOC

However these can still be accessed using software like ISO buster or our godd Old NERO burnin....

scroll up dude and read my reply ..

nero multimounter requires nero to be installed isnt it ...

and i dont have a writer and henco dont have nero installed ..

and yes i specifically remember that i burned them at different speeds .. so i suppose that shud be the problem ..
as for now .. ive dumped it .. cos there seems no possible solution

A solution at last!!!

Hello chaps!!!
I wuz redirected to this post from my own post elsewhere.
Here is a third party Solution for this whole mess.
Get a shareware proggie called CD&DVD Analyze. You can get it here:

This fellow does the job neatly. It can read all ur sessions on CD's burnt at different speeds, using a CD ROM / CD-RW Drive. Only restriction being that u can't directly acess the files. To acess files individually u gotta save the file to a location on the Hard disk & then acess it. There is a floppy icon in the program interface window which is used to save the selected files to a location of ur choice.

If anyone wants any further assistance with the proggies usage feel free to mail me at: hotjim99@yahoo.com ...(It has a 30 usage limitation)
Cheers
