Dark Overlord !!!
I am facing this very weird problem. All my CD/DVD drives have stopped their autorun feature. This includes all my virtual drives (Daemon Tools 4/Alcohol 120 %) too. Until yesterday everything was workin fine when suddenly this happened.
Whenever I insert/mount any CD/DVD, the icon/label of the drives remains the same i.e. if it is DVD-RW Drive [W:], it remains so and doesn't change to the LABEL of the CD/DVD. Though Windows Explorer can access the files without any problem.
Autorun is enabled. Shell Hardware Discovery service is running and is in automatic mode. Tried everything but I actually don't know what to do in this case. Please Help. I am running Win XP SP2 with all updates till Sep 2006 installed.
Softwares I installed before I found this out:
WinDVD 8 Trial + .NET framework 3.0 + VC++ 2005 runtimes.
