Right off the assembly line
Hi,
We are planning to install a CCTV set up in our company. our needs are as follows.
1) Need 4 cameras, so 4 channel DVR is enough. Its for outdoors
2) Need to record/live view to separate HDD and delete automatically when HDD is full.
3) Need remote internet viewing enabled DVR though not going to use this feature now.
4) Place will be reasonably lit during night times, so moderate visibility to identify a person is enough.
5) Output from DVR to a computer monitor which is in use without blocking computer usage local person said using ethernet cable this can be done.
6) Please provide reliable shops and brands available in chennai. Ebay also accepted if reliable.
7) DVR should start recording automatically once power comes back need not record when power is off.

came across this ebay option seems good please provide your opinions.

get a good dvr, world's affordable quality brand is hikvision , and is available in india. every setting can be changed in it unlike other no name china dvr's

I have a 16ch one, hikvison, WD1 recording with 16 audio

7) DVR should start recording automatically once power comes back need not record when power is off.
2) Need to record/live view to separate HDD and delete automatically when HDD is full.
all dvr's have this --^^

4) Place will be reasonably lit during night times, so moderate visibility to identify a person is enough.
depends on camera quality, resolution(TVL), recording resolution (best D1 or WD!)

1) Need 4 cameras, so 4 channel DVR is enough. Its for outdoors
need to get a waterproof camera

5) Output from DVR to a computer monitor which is in use without blocking computer usage local person said using ethernet cable this can be done.
yes, using ethernet cable
or to a unused crt TV also works.
but it will be without lag only when streaming low quality video (CIF resolution, or QCIF). for D1/4CIF straming you need to see from monitor attached to dvr itself for best quality view
but it might be like that for me since im using 16 channels.
but for 4 channels i think it will be good to see WD1 or D1 from wthernet cable connected to computer

3) Need remote internet viewing enabled DVR though not going to use this feature now.
available surely if it has lan port in it, but should see about the networking streaming resolution is god (can be set in hikvision)

6) Please provide reliable shops and brands available in chennai. Ebay also accepted if reliable.
got mine from Orisenc, which is in chennai only and they sell via ebay too...

I got mine from security essence too, but there are 2-3 cameras which are giving lines /not working properl even a good psu is used. mine are 600tvl cameras, sony with OSD, IR
will replace soon with them

---------------------

a 600tvl cam -1.7k got from security essence in ebay only, not waterproof but IR night vision
so 4 cams-6.8k
1.3k- wire - 1 roll(90Mts) -get from chennai only, will say address if you need, very high quality bare copper wire(not aluminium) at low cost compared to cheap ones,
connectors, psu's etc -1k
dvr hikvision - 6k(max)
total 15.5k
but see if you can get cameras at low price still (low quality) and psu can be 0.5k since it is only for 4 cams.

+1 for hikvision we have around 19+ of this company cameras.

no idea about outdoor how good cameras are of hikvision but internal really good.
if 4 is what you need that no need of buying extra channel dvr. i got safe company's dvr not quite impressed but not bad at all too.

2) Need to record/live view to separate HDD and delete automatically when HDD is full.
4 cameras then 250GB HDD is enough but more better. i don't think you will have auto delete function but deleting is pretty easy like windows.

3) Need remote internet viewing enabled DVR though not going to use this feature now.
RJ45 connector is given on DVR's so you can put your WAN directly to it or LAN ethernet cable. you will need router though to do redirect of your IP to Public.

5) Output from DVR to a computer monitor which is in use without blocking computer usage local person said using ethernet cable this can be done.
true. you don't need extra monitor for this just setup LAN/WAN and use browser to monitor.

7) DVR should start recording automatically once power comes back need not record when power is off.
thats how it works it will start recording asap it's ON.

I have no-name sony chipset camera of IR, NV and 600tvl, with OSD from security essence--in ebay for 1.7k
hikvision cameras are damn costly
