not bad. but make sure it is not the LE(light edition) from asus.

LE version is cheaper and less than 5.5k i suppose. and The LE lacks heatsink on its VRM and has a 4pin CPU connector (instead of the 8pin).

another difference between ds3 and ds3p is that the former officially doesn't support '125W fx83/81xx' processor

The suggested config is pretty good. I'd go for it right now.

If I buy the pc now then it'll sit at home idle

Yeah, you should get the desktop when you reach home. Start a new thread again as it will be few months from now.

go for the 40k rig but instead of 7770 switch to 750 Ti. 265 is fast but that'll stretch the PSU. instead 650 Ti should fit in your budget plus PSU will have some breathing space.
