Buying advise for Digital photo frame

I have been pondering over this for many months and after having seen a few frames in the Sony centre decided to get one. Although the ones from Sony are quite expensive.

I want any suggestions and advice; also if it is a good idea or not.

Reason: Gift to Dad

Has anyone used or gifted a frame like this?

Heard Transcend ones are good. Never used one though. Get one with no logo in front as changing orientation will make it look odd. But the Viewsonic model is very cheap for a 8" screen.

I saw the ones by Sony as I was walking but and 5k seemed expensive for a 8" screen. I think I will go with the transcend one. At 2.5 odd kays it looks like a good buy.

I think a logo would look too tacky. Will check and inquire about it.
