Hey TDF, I'm new around here. Please advice me on buying a low-end tablet. I don't have that much money and can only shell out around 5k but NOT more than 6k. I want a tablet mainly for reading books and PDFs and some other general stuff..

I have considered Micromax Funbook. Is it worth it?

Also I looked at Kindle and Nook Simple Touch but neither of them ships to India. I would have bought Simple Touch immediately had i got it here. I'm from Pune, btw.

Tried aakash. placed order but not delievered yet... any news whats happening???

Dont wait for Akash.
If your requirement is reading better buy Kindle/nook .Even expensive tablets can not match their reading performance.

I am using Ainol Aurora with IPS screen for ebook reading and have read continuously for 4-5 hours without any eye strain.

Those who have bought funbook can confirm if they can are comfortable reading mobi/epub format books (using fbreader, alkindo etc) for long duration...

Thats the problem with all tablets.Kindle is much lighter..
another thing is battery performance.I have observed that when i am using my tablet while charging (with USB) the battery remains at more or less same level.

How much time it takes for funbook for complete charge (from 10% to 100%)?
