I've had similar experiences with nautilus cd burner. Use brasero all the time and never had a bad disc. Secondly make sure you don't tax your system too much while burning on optical media.I tried burning a DVD full of images recently.... but i saw that all the image files were corrupt on the disk, while on my HDD they are perfect.
I use Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron, and the inbuilt CD/DVD Burner
pls suggest a good software for burning CD's n DVD's on Linux

Where is wodim now? I don't see wodim in portage these days. There is cdrtools which contain cdrecord, cdrkit is also there.perhaps the change in backend due to rapid developments is the reason (WODIM)
