I tried burning a DVD full of images recently.... but i saw that all the image files were corrupt on the disk, while on my HDD they are perfect.
I use Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron, and the inbuilt CD/DVD Burner
pls suggest a good software for burning CD's n DVD's on Linux

It can't be possible.. The ISO lying on the computer must be faulty. or you must have ended the burning process in middle.. If not then Try Gmount ISO to check if the ISO on Computer mount or not . *www.thinkdigit.com/forum/showthread.php?t=74617 If it fails to mount the probably the ISO are faulty..

Coming on the second question..Brasero is the best Gnome burning utility ..You can try K3b or Gnomebaker :)

I've had similar experiences with nautilus cd burner. Use brasero all the time and never had a bad disc. Secondly make sure you don't tax your system too much while burning on optical media.

I never ever touched Barasero. During the days I used ubuntu, I always used Gnome Baker.
How is Barasero compared to Gnome Baker ?

perhaps the change in backend due to rapid developments is the reason (WODIM)
Where is wodim now? I don't see wodim in portage these days. There is cdrtools which contain cdrecord, cdrkit is also there.
BTW, my preference is cdrecord and plan on learning mkisofs so I can create and burn cd's/dvd's using one command i.e. growisofs.

Same here. So now it is confirmed that nautilus cd burner in Ubuntu is Krapy. I wasted 2 DVD while burning Genuine vista sp1 image :D , then i burned it on my genuine Mac OS X Leopard :pUse Brasero or K3B. Both are ok
