@cilus.
nice config.
but if u add OD and speakers it ll reach 60k.
560ti performs on par with HD6950 as per benchmarks at anandtech.
but the asus gtx 560ti dcu2 is a factory oced card and the sapphire card is at stock speed so the asus card ll be slightly better.
and yes the 6950 can be unlocked to 6970,if the
op actually does it.also dcu2 run much cooler energy efficient and with 3dcapablility,physX and cuda.
so is the extra 1.5K for hd6950 worth it?
correct me if am wrong!:)

^6950 is roughly equal to 560 oced.
here it beats a highly oced 560 ti (950mhz) in 3 out of 5 games.
Introduction - MSI N560GTX-Ti Hawk Video Card Review | [H]ard|OCP

also 2GB frame buffer of 6950 is futureproof.
and crossfire performance of 6950 is roughly equal to 570 sli.

and 6950 also supports APP which is gaining wide support like nvidia cuda.

560ti consumes a lot of power. and when oced it reaches sky high. (check above review)
that much for equaling a 6950 is not justified.

and 560 TFII is now 14k and 6950 2GB is 14.5k for sapphire. its 0.5k difference.

Stock GTX 560ti performs on
par with HD 6950
here:AnandTech - Bench - GPU11

with 560ti edging 6950 in some and 6950 edging 560ti in some benchmarks.
The card i was refering in my earlier post was asus gtx 560ti direct cu2 top which is factory oced runs much cooler and consumer less power than the sapphire card, and can be further oced!
the asus card performs same as 6950 in crysis Warhead 1920x1080,and beats it in Mafia 2,civ5,dirt2 etc at 1920x1080 and higher.

As for the cost,u urself wrote in ur thread PC BUYING GUIDE MAY 2011 that the msi 560ti TF2
costs 13.5k.
And please let me know where did u find the sapphire 6950 ''2GB'' for 14.5k!

MSI Twin frozer II is cooler ..right but how could it consume less power? It consumes more power than standard 560 Ti. Adding a cooler can reduce the temp level but how could it reduce the Power consumption?

sites like anandtech do their review on the release date. they should re-do their review after new drivers are released.

hd 6950 2gb gets my vote. more VRAM will be better in the long run.

factory oced gtx 560 ti consume more power than hd 69502gb although that run cooler. check jassy's hardocp link.

Stock GTX 560ti performs on
par with HD 6950
here:AnandTech - Bench - GPU11

in crysis, metro, stalker, wolfenstien, mass effect 2 etc 6950 is ahead. in civ5, battleforge 560 is ahead.

and i dont see those biased games like hawx.

dirt 2 has varying results like see below
if you want more stock comparisons -
GeForce GTX 560 Ti review

with 560ti edging 6950 in some and 6950 edging 560ti in some benchmarks.

msi twin frozr II and III are better coolers.

and a card with different cooler doesnt consume less power!!
560ti consumes too much of power when oced.

and for your information msi twin frozr III 560 is clocked at 950mhz, which is 50mhz higher than asus top model. and check the above hardocp comparison of 560 TFIII and 6950. 6950 still manages to beat it in 3 out of 5 games.

lynx-india?

and that was may update and smc had priced it 13.5k. but now go and see it. its 14k at smc. and it will be corrected in june updates.

and in all comparisons 6950 is running at stock. you can oc it too.

The one thing that i found out from that hardocp review of msi gtx 560-ti hawk was its response to clock speeds.

By overclocking to a mere 30mhz from "out of the box speed" a whooping 14% performance is gained. F1 2010 which was giving 47 fps in stock, was now giving 55 fps on average which is really a feat. This is one of the games where nvidia cards faltered.

Turning the heat more i.e overclocking it beyond 50 mhz ups the performance by 19%.

Ofcourse they did not overclock the 6950 but i am sure its response to clock increments will not match a 560.

So my advice is if op wants to stick with a single gpu ( taking physx out of the equation) setup, then he should get a msi 560-ti hawk instead of 6950.

But if he wants to do a multigpu setup later ( again discarding physx) then a 6950 2gb is highly recommended. The 2gb framebuffer comes in handy here even at full hd resolutions.

That huge OC of 560Ti is also contributing to its huge power consumption which will ultimately leads to higher running cost of the card. At this moment with the 6950 2gb priced around 15k, a 560Ti is not recommended unless it is going for 13k or lesser or someone is really going to take advantage of CUDA, PhysX or whatever nVIDIA proprietary features are there.

^^An extra load of 90 watts (although high) is not enough turning the tide in favour of 6950. People can still buy the hawk and live with it enjoying the performance and cooler temperatures ( essential for the longevity of the gpu).

Its like putting an extra 100 watt bulb in your house. Really not that a big deal. But its a big deal in a mutigpu setup. 6950 has an advantage there. Putting 2 cards in crossfire will save a great amount of power than 2 cards in sli.

people need not worry about 6950 temps and its equipped with twin frozr II cooler at 15k. moreover sapphire cooler is also good. and people in this forum are using 6950 unlocked to 6970 with reference cooler too and temps under control.

@ basuvani

Change the monitor to full hd. Go for benq g2220hd @ 7k. Its bare minimum for your setup. For the gtx 560, get the asus gtx 560-ti direct cu II top model. Its factory overclocked.

For smps, get corsair tx 650-v2 instead of gs 600. It can even handle a gtx 560 sli in case you would wish to add a second card in future.

Rest of the config is fine and well balanced.
