For movies and editing job, opt for new AMD Phenom II X6 6 core processors as more the core count, more performance will be gained in editing job.

I'm suggesting both AMD and Intel based solution:

AMD based
Phenom II X6 1090T 3.2GHz B.E. @ 13.9k
Biostar TA890GXE @ 6.6k
2X2 GB Kingston DDR3 1333 MHz Ram @ 5.5k
Seagate 1 TB SATA with 32MB Cache @ 4k
Cooler Master GX-550W @ 4.4k (although a new one but reffered by Digit)
Cooler Master Elite 342 @ 2.2k or Zebronics Reaper @ 1.7k without SMPS
BenQ 24" G2420 FULL HD LCD Monitor @ 11.3k
Keyboard & Mouse at your choice @ 1.5k
MSI HD5850 1GB GDDR5 @ 15.9k
LG 22X SATA Dvd Writer @ 1.1k

Total is coming as 61.8k. Rest of the money can be used to buy a good CPU cooler if you want overclocking.
Reason: It may be little slower in gaming (may be 5 to 10 fps) than Core i7, but will give better performance in multithreaded applications like u mentioned, Editing work.
And AMD has done some serius work in cooling. New X6 processors are hell of a overclocker. You can reach 3.6 to 3.8 GHz with the supplied cooler without any problem

Now going for the Intel based solution:
First of all get rid of i7 870. Because it is overpriced, does not have triple channel memory controller and Hyper-threading enabled as the Core i7 930

it will be like

Core i7 930 2.8GHz @ 13.9k
MSI X58 Pro @ 10.8k

total will be 66k

It will be a hell of a gamer config. The deadly combination of i7 930 and HD 5850 will run any current games in full HD with all eye candy and probably can play all the titles in coming years for some time. It is also a very good overclocker. Just go for a custom CPU cooler to utilize its Overclocking potential.

if going for i7 860 , go with msi p55-gd65 motherboard. will cost you arnd 10k but it is really worth it.

1 tb drives are failing a lot , so either go with 2 500gb drives. or maybe get 500gb now and add 1 later.

cabinet go for nzxt gamma . try and get a corsair psu instead.

Can you fill the below questionnaire so we can suggest you a good config!
1. What is your MAX budget?
2. Are you open to alternate ideas/products giving similar better performance but offering more VFM/ sellers? If not- why?
3. What is the purpose of the computer? (Note: If you are planning to say multimedia, you will have to be more specific as all types of systems are capable of doing that)
4. Planning to overclock?
5. Which OS are you planning to use?
6. How much hard drive space is needed?
7. What resolution will the screen run at?
8. How would you rate your hardware knowledge from the count of 1-10? (1 being the lowest, 5 being you are somewhat in sync with the current performers and 10 being the highest)
9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
10. When are you planning to buy the system?
11. Are you one of the types looking out for "future proof" configurations?
12. Are there going to be any components that you don't want to include in this new rig? If yes, do mention.
13. Which city do you live in and are you open to buying from shops from other city/states?
14. Mention any other points if deemed necessary

Well..first of all,thanks for replying..
Now after cilus's suggesion, i have decided to go for i7 930 & msi 5850:) but the price has now increased by 10000 due to this mb & Graphic card..thats manageable..
But i see that the MB msi x58 has only 2 sata ports and costlier. Any other suggesions for the same budget?
how about an intel motherboard?
The reasons i wouldnt go for amd is

1.i want it more for gaming than for editing.
2. The person whom i am buying the pc with, has had some bad experience with amd & has strictly told no to amd.
I really need help with the mb guys..so please help..
I will fill out that form soon.pls keep the replies coming.

Who said you that MSI X58 Pro has 2 sata port? Today even a 4k mobo comes with at least 4 SATA. The Mobo I mentioned is having 7 SATA port.
Read a Detail review and config of the mobo over here .

2ndly, If any person is having bad experience with AMD, does not mean that AMD is crappy. I bet a lot of people have same kinda experience with Intel processors.
In this forum, a lot of the forum members ( I think most of them) use AMD based configuration (I'm one of them) and they are quite knowledgeable.
At your budget, for gaming there is no doubt that Core i7 930 is the best one, but for multit-hreaded applications, AMD will be a smart choice.

seeing this line, i thought better its not to comment here. cause i can just pass some comments in favor of AMD. final decision has to be made by OP. also i seen many guys here who settle for Intel config even when AMD will give better performance.

Well, you can ignore XFX as it is generally overpriced. MSI and Sapphire both are reliable. Go for anyone of them. It's almost the same thing.

please use your original thread for all your queries dude.
Threads merged. :)
