What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
ans)Mostly gaming plus watching movies and browsing.

What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
ans)35k not more than that!

Planning to overclock?
ans)Yes some minor overclocking

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
ans)win7 64bit

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
ans)500gb

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
ans)Yes,i want to buy a new 20"or 19" monitor(lcd or led).

7.Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
ans)Keyboard,mice,speakers,ups.

8.When are you planning to buy the system?
ans)In a month

9.Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
ans)I'll do it myself

10.Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
ans)In kerala,calicut..I am not planning to buy the entire system online..but i'll go for graphics card online!

11.Anything else which you would like to say?
I've done a little homework and this is what i came up with...
Intel core i3 2100- Rs. 6413
ASUS P8H61-M PLUS V2 Motherboard-Rs. 3339
MSI R6770-MD1GD5 Radeon HD 6770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5- rs 6700
Corsair DDR3 4 GB (2 x 2 GB)- rs 1500

Config is spot on. :)

You can pick up HD 7770 over HD 6770 if you want.

i have some doubts:
1)Will a 430watt psu be able to power my gpu and still provide some room for OCing?
2)Should i go for amd phenom ii 960t instead of the i3(i saw some benchmarks in which the i3 was out performing the amd quad and hexa core cpu's)?
:-?

It'll be better to go for a quad core AMD at this price range than the i3.

Component Make Price
CPU AMD Phenom II 960T 6957
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2P 2600
RAM GSKILL Value Series 4GB 1150
GPU GIGABYTE GV-R777D5-1GD 8300
HDD WD Caviar Blue 500 GB 4329
Optical Drive Asus DRW-24B3ST 1112
Case CM Elite 310 1820
PSU FSP SAGA II 500 2300
Monitor BenQ GL2030 6200
TOTAL 34768

If you're in Kerala check out the shops at Ravipuram/Pallimukku (Ernakulam). I've heard that they have low prices and stocks a wide variety of peripherals.

yea. Power supply is fine for HD 6770 and HD 7770.

You can't overclock Core i3-2100 though. You will be able to overclock the GPU.

If you want to overclock, get Phenom II X4 955 BE. Although sticking with Core i3-2100 is fine.

This is perfect for the price given.

Gigabyte GV-R777D5-1GD @ 8.2k

Total cost would be around 37k. If you want to bring the cost down then go for "Gigabyte GA-M68MT-S2 Motherboard" which would cost you 2.5k. This would bring the total to 33.5k.

An amd fx-4100 is not at all recommended here. Phenom 955be or 965be are much better than fx-4100
@OP: get the config suggested by rigod or badmash.

I am planning to take the system at the end of this month..but i am little unsure abt gigabyte hd7770!! that thing looks like ****(i noe appearance doesnt matter bt still )moreover i've read many comments in newegg abt the same having many problems like not overclockable etc...this coupled with the poor driver support from amd made me think "wat abt gtx 550ti or even gtx 460"(i'm kind of an nvidia fan,i think nvidia is much better at tesselation)

tell your suggestions guys

HD 7770 is faster in tessellation than GTX 550 Ti and may be GTX 460. Head to head, HD 7000 series has faster tessellation than GTX 400/500. GTX 400/500 had better tessellation thsn HD 6000 series though. But honestly, synthetic tessellation benchmarks should not be given any significance.

Not overclockable? Obviously HD 7770 can be overclocked. HD 7750? no voltage tweaking.

GTX 550 Ti is not advised. It has a huge power consumption and worst performance per watt. GTX 460 is fine. Weird thing about GTX 550 Ti is, it uses a lot more power than GTX 460 and performs less. :|

Performance pecking order is this -
HD 7750 a bit shy of HD 6770 = GTX 550 Ti. HD 7750 a shy of GTX 460 which is a bit shy of HD 6850.

HD 7750/7770 = the most power efficient cards. HD 6850 slightly more power efficient than GTX 460. GTX 550 Ti the worst.

HD 7770's driver will be fine in a month or two. Every card launch has bad drivers. nVidia has had their share too.

wat abt gtx 550ti

Don't even think about the 550Ti. Power hungry like anything and doesn't give performance to match that hunger. If you're sticking ti nVidia get at least the GTX 560. Maybe a factory OC'ed one. But at your budget HD 7770 is a good buy.

Amd it is then.... so i will have msi hd 6850(8.6k) and hd7770(8.3k) in my budget !
So which one should i be buying???

Get the MSI HD 6850. The very model you're talking about is actually MSI Cyclone Power Edition which is a factory overclocked card, running at 840 MHz speed compared to the 775 MHz of the reference model.
Now even at stock speed, 6850 is faster than HD 7770. So a factory overclocked card will obviously perform better.
