do an uninstall of the drivers/software... i have the same modem..it is good features packed in a bull**** cheap unstable package.
if that does not solvethe problem why dont u connect it via LAN.. that is much neater and it does not require any drivers.
i can work the wifi card on my modem...

Press the reset button with a pin behind the modem.Un install the software
and reinstall it from the pc. And yes, if you have a lan card, go for lan solution.no software or USB cable will be necessary then.

Hmmm.... i think the drivers are corrupted in the first install.. anyway, uninstall all the drivers for the modem, replug it in another slot, delete the folders where these drivers are .. now try re-installing again.

    this may help u out
